Rosemarys_Baby-1968Rosemary’s Baby is an American psychological horror film written and directed by Roman Polanski, based on the bestselling 1967 novel of the same name by Ira Levin (who wrote A Kiss Before Dying, which was made into a film of the same name and released this day 12 years previously). The cast features Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes, Ruth Gordon, Ralph Bellamy, Maurice Evans, Sidney Blackmer, and Charles Grodin. The film chronicles the story of a pregnant woman who suspects that she is being used by an evil cult to bear the spawn of the devil in an effort to bring about Satan’s reign on Earth.

Rosemary’s Baby earned almost universal acclaim from film critics and won numerous nominations and awards.
