TV-UK-06-07-19461946: The BBC Television Service begins broadcasting again. The first words heard are “Good afternoon everybody. How are you? Do you remember me, Jasmine Bligh?”. Twenty minutes later, the Mickey Mouse cartoon Mickey’s Gala Premiere that had been the last programme transmitted seven years earlier at the start of World War II, is reshown.  Watch the moment TV returned to Britain on the Television Heaven YouTube Channel.

TV-UK-06-07-19711971: The UK children’s magazine show Blue Peter buries a time capsule in the grounds of BBC Television Centre, due to be opened on the first episode of the year 2000. Watch the team bury the time capsule on the Thelittlerocketco YouTube Channel.
