April 6: Audrey Rose unfairly compared to The Exorcist?

1977: Audrey Rose, a psychological horror and drama film directed by Robert Wise, starring Marsha Mason, Anthony Hopkins, and Susan Swift was released. It was based on the novel of the same title by Frank De Felitta and the plot deals with a young girl who is believed by a man to be a reincarnation of his dead daughter.

The movie suffered from its comparisons to The Exorcist and received generally poor reviews.  However, it is not so much a horror film but a melodrama on the subject of reincarnation.
